2008-07-04. Friday. Today I more or less finished delineating the area of the EB (late?) burn/ceramic scatter, which lies beneath the wall in the eastern side of locus 108. this feature contains black and red soil, chunks of bright orange burned clay, as well as the odd sherd or piece of bone outside of the sherd area. I had Ar. continue to clean out locus 110, which mostly consisted of removing plastic and the mud which had pooled in this area overnight. V. dug out more (but not all ) of the soil from within western 103. Al. and S. mostly finished digging down locus 109--- reaching what looks like bedrock in the northern part of the locus. they came up with some large sherds and bones, but mixed together with sherds and loose soil. in the afternoon, i worked on cleaning out the area between the wall courses technically locus 104, though i did not move any new soil, only spoil from 106 that had been dumped ove the wall to make a ramp, and other topsoils which had pooled in the stone interstices. this was all in preparation for starting the drawing process on sunday, at which time i will take levels and measurements. also, either my workers have a spreading stomach complaint or i need to be more suspicious about zugaran breaks...
