07.06.2008 We finished locus 1 and continued to work on locus 2 of B07. We actually have bags for bone, obsidian, and ceramic sherds. Quite a few of the sherds are coming from the south side near the cromlech next door with the bud and sunken center. But there are also sherds from other areas. The team decided it was ancient picnicers. In general, however, the shouth and west sides are a bit confusing. The outermost ring of the cromlech is not as easy to follow because the rocks seem to be smaller and on the south side it is just cobble maddness that may run to the edge of the trench and it is not yet clear how these articulate with the cromlech next door (again, the budding sunken one). The ending elevations as they stand now for locus 1 are: from datum3 N -160.5cm, W -50.5cm, C -109.5cm; from datum 4 -57cm, -122cmThe locus 2 soil matrix is 7.5 YR 2.5/2 very dark brown, silty clay loam, granular, friable, slightly sticky
