Narrative

2008-07-15. Tuesday. i started today by taking an opening level near the bedrock, to start a 10 cm pass across the floor of locus 107. also, we first had to shore up one of the very large granite boulders, which was starting to slip out of the north baulk near the bedrock junction. we moved stones from the rockpile to place under the large stone, in case it erodes further. the plan for today was to work across 107 with trowels, with the intent to switch to shovels if no floor/ other feature appeared. in the first hour, the bedrock in the eastern end of the locus began to bottom out. we switched to shovels, and started methodically uncovering this bedrock. we made it almost halfway across when the day was called for rain. no spectacular finds today, some possible worked stone, the same bones and sherds-- one nicely decorated.
