Narrative

We only worked half a day today because of rain. Spent the morning working in locus 07. We approached the line of stones that run parallel to the northwest wall from the interior of the room. Trying to see whether there's another course of stones beneath it, and whether this is in fact a feature of some sort. The situation is still unclear; in some areas it seems that the stones are indeed arranged, while in other areas the stones are floating on a medium brown clayish silt matrix. Toward the middle of the line of stones I cleaned off an extremely large and flat stone that almost reaches as far as the northwest wall. In the narrow space between the line of stones and the northwest wall, the matrix is a very packed clay. It reminds me of what we encountered above the flagstone floor of WSC2 in 2005. Wouldn't be surprised if we come upon a flagstone floor in this area.
