Began the day by measuring and cutting a new trench, AB4, on the south side of Aragatsiberd's first terrace. The trench measured 10 x 3m and cross cut some possible surface architecture. After laying the trench out and taking opening photos, we began the removal of topsoil as locus 1.In operation AB3 we spent the day cleaning and removing wall-fall from the trench's locus 5 northwest corner, cutting steps and platforms into the hill on the trench's north side for increased safety of excavation, completing the excavation of locus 3 above a new locus 6 bedrock/clay floor, sampling soil from the locus 7 stone basin (locus 8 for the sample), and opening locus 9 above the locus 6 bedock/clay floor in the northeast corner of AB3.
