We spent the whole day working in locus 13 and locus 15. In locus 13, I troweled around the fallen rocks in the west corner, eventually exposing the continuation of the flagstone floor. Once again, the matrix in this corner is a tan clay. Most of the day was spent in the medium brown rocky silt of locus 15, where we continued to expose the flagstone floor toward the northwest half of the locus. It was a sweltering hot day. Work moved very slowly. Had some interesting conversations with the workers regarding corrals and troughs. Ruben Sargsyan argued strongly for the idea that WSD is a corral. He noted striking parallels with modern corrals in the village, including flagstone floors of only a few rows and long narrow troughs (sometimes formed with stones). Will take a trip to the village next week to take photographs of modern examples.
