2008-07-26. Saturday. This morning I updated my master drawing and took some closing elevations in the main trench of T19. I'm still waiting for a datum for the northern extension of the operation-- though topsoil removal definitely will occupy several days. I took levels along the top of locus 107 as it wraps around the trench, from its emergence on the eastern slope between locus 106 (boulder collapse) and bedrock, to its still- ambiguous relationship with the EB deposit, which it abuts somewhere under the westernmost LB wall. Cleaning and drawing were completed in the western EB sector, as well as more photos. I took levels for various points on the bedrock as well-- and i assigned loci to the walls, so that they can be described within the database. we removed topsoil slowly (it was really hot)-- by the end of the day all the sod had been removed, and we will continue on monday removing the lower topsoils carefully with shovels.
