Finished South Settlement mag survey 1ha grid today with 1E-5E, and 5D. left out 5C since it was too rocky and very disturbed. Data file in magnetometer is 06.sstmnt.wg. In the evening I attempted to combine all the mag data from the South Settlement grid into one Excel file, but it exceeded Excel's limit of 65k lines. So created 2 big Excel files and was able to import them both into one big Surfer data sheet which apparently has a larger capacity than Excel worksheets. I then used the Surfer data sheet to create one big hillshade of the hectare. Some interesting architecture is emerging, but it later became apparent that the combined data creates a fuzzier, less resolute image than when creating individual images from the data blocks one at a time. Anyway, I'm going to keep the combined data file in case I can find a use for it; the combined image is called Tsaghsettlementmagdata08MASTER.tif; TsaghsettlmementmagdataMASTER.xls and ...MASTER2.xls.Lori took some photos of me doing the mag survey at Ruben's request, so I'll need to get those from her as well.
