Gor is back today after an extended illness, so Arabo will go back to being a periodic sub for Lori's workers. Since we finished the South Settlement mag survey yesterday, Gor and I resurveyed a 40x40m area near the SLT operations. Last time we worked in the SLT grid a couple weeks ago, I used the mag setup with the sensors on the backback and it didn't produce very good resolution since they we too high off the ground. Plus the collapse stones from the citadel scattered around this area made survey difficult. This time, I'm focusing on a small portion of the SLT grid area just south of SLT ops that are relatively clear of large stones which will allow me to carry the sensors closer to the ground and employ the tighter 0.5m transect lines. The goal is to see whether the SLT architecture continues to the south under the surface. I did not assign grid numbers to the original SLT data blocks, but the four 20x20m blocks in this resurvey I dubbed 1a, 1B, 2A, and 2B. The transects were roughly E-W along the Y axis. The data file in the magnetometer is 07sstmnt.wg. After downloading and mapping the data in Surfer in the evening, there appears to be quite a bit of subsurface architecture south of the SLT ops. In particular, there appears to be a large, roughly rectangular room about 25m long. There's a sizable anomaly about 2m wide at the western edge of the room that might be the target of future test excavations.
