A dark brown slity loam layer covering the northern half of operation AB2. This locus corresponds to AB1 locus 1, as a rather easy to dig layer of soil overlying the rocky second layer of the Aragatis-Berd 2nd north terrace. It is important to note that as terrace slopes downward to the northwest, the same stratigraphic layers are situated more deeply in northern AB2 than southern AB2 which is higher and positioned close to the hill's andesite bedrock. AB2 locus 1 and 3 therefore contain the same matrix. Top Elevations: NW -202. SW -178, SE -146, NE -163, C -164 (Only the southern and central elevations apply to this locus as the northern elevations constitute the top elevations from locus 3).Bottom Elevations: NW -221, NE -186
