    This locus covers the southeasterly half of the interior of the room. I created it in order to separate the most severely sloping area of the trench from the rest of the room. The matrix is a dark brown and clean (not rocky) soil. Digging this locus has allowed us to begin to clean the first and second courses of the southwest and southeast walls.
