The matrix of this locus is the same clean, dark brown silt as locus 2 above it. However, I created it in order to differentiate from the lighter brown clayish matrix adjacent, towards the southeast. The shape of the locus is also irregular, as with locus 4 (see drawing). Maximal dimensions indicated above. A charcoal sample was collected from this locus, just alongside the southeast wall (2.75 m from southwest wall, 1137 b.d. 5). It may be resting on a floor surface (recalling the upper floor in WSH).
