Place: Ar/Ts.WSN.25

Reaching the bottom of locus 24 brought the north quadrant of WSN to the same level as locus 7, in the east corner of the trench. The matrix of locus 25 is yet again a medium brown rocky silt (deep wash levels were encountered in WSN in 2010 as well). We are not yet encountering the lighter traces of clayish silt that are often encountered adjacent to walls in Precinct A. I have created this locus because, having reached the level of locus 7 in the east corner, it is now possible to bring the entire half of the room to the level of locus 19 in the south corner of the trench. The top elevation of this locus is higher than the bottom elevation of locus 23 because the bottom of locus 24 was uneven and the center point for this locus is different from that of locus 24. The elevations indicated above suggest a mere 4 cm locus, but this is due to the fact that the area is not level--corner elevations in notebook indicate a greater depth of locus. Rather high ceramic densities in this locus, including one bag filled with possible parts of an oven.
