This locus is situated in the east corner of WSN, sharing the same footprint as locus 7 in its last iteration at the end of 2010. It was segregated from the adjacent locus 26 because of the many stones clustered in this area, both adjacent to the southeast wall and further into the trench. In the course of excavating this locus, it became clear that many of the stones are wall fall. Others remain in situ for the time being. Yet others emerged in the course of excavating the locus. This has always been a rather rocky corner but since we are approaching the floor, we proceed especially cautiously before removing rocks. As of now, no clear alignment is visible. The soil matrix is a dark brown silt, no different from that of locus 24, 25, or 26.
