This locus constitutes a .5 by 2 meter probe along the NW baulk in operation WSAC to find bedrock. The surface of the locus was therefore the floor contemporaneous with the paved floor (Locus 29), and after passing through a very thin lens of floor prep- a whitish clay, not covering the whole probe- the locus turned into a gritty, sandy orange-brown matrix that was completely sterile. The probe also contains a number of stones of the porous black/crumbly kind. Along the NW baulk, the lens of the floor and parts of the clay prep are clearly visible.
