Place: Ar/Ge.T31.03

The soil along the western edge is still a medium brown and the soil along the eastern wall remains mottled black and medium brown. A C14 sample (Ar/Ge.T31.3.C14.01) was taken from a large beam found in the NW corner of the locus, at a depth of 2284.79 m. A dendro sample was taken from the rest of the beam (Ar/Ge.T31.5). The beam section was about 45 cm long (including the staining of the soil, not just the actual charcoal). Another part of a beam was found along the eastern wall of the trench, in the SE corner of the locus. In the NE corner of the locus, we found a cubical (6-sided) polishing stone (Ar/Ge.T31.3.L.01) with rounded edges at a depth of 2285.00 masl. Shovels turned up a worked flake of obsidian (Ar/Ge.T31.3.L.02). Throughout the locus, material densities remained low and the soil remains mottled.
