This locus was dug in search of a possible doorway between WSM and WSH. No particular sign of one was found. It was dug on top of the SW wall along a five meter expanse. I've assigned a width of 1m to the locus, though it should be noted that this was simply the furthest the SW wall extended into WSM2. Also note that this locus itself extended beyond the boundaries of WSM2 (no more than a meter) in order to explore a couple alignments of rocks that might have indicated a passageway between the two rooms. See notebook for a drawing. At any rate the alignments turned out to be floating, and I closed the locus after this became apparent. There was no lithics bag for this locus. The one noteworthy thing about it was a very distinct black layer in the stratigraphy (about 5m thick), but as it was very close to the surface this was deemed not worth investigating.
If looking at the other elevations in the notebook, note that the C elevation (the one I've routinely used for the elevations of loci in this database) is relevant. The S and E elevations were taken on rocks and therefore didn't change, while the top N and W elevations were taken inside the trench even though the significant digging for this locus took place outside of it.
