This thin deposit of black loam with 30% sand in the T2E southern baulk begins at the base of the inter-EB sandy construction fill and halts after an average 3 centimeters, although in some locations grows to 10cm in thickness. Ceramic frequencies are high here and this level may represent a living surface of the terminal remains of an incredibly tubated living surface, destroyed by the recosntruction an filling. Alternatively, it may represent a hiatus in Gegharot occupation (as levels of loam often do). The locus terminates in orange sandy (cultural) fill, locus E659, which in turn overlays bedrock.
