Today I started a new locus. Locus 3 was created to clean up the layer directly below the sod of Locus 1. This locus is located directly north of Locus 2. This locus cuts the trench in half in the upper half of trench to manage archaeological materials and not for any archaeological distinction. It was also created to level the slope to the top of the wall along the NE wall. Locus 3 was done by 1 worker using a trowel and a scoop. Locus 3 took two days to dig. The soil is dark and rocky. There are many roots in locus 3.
