6/29/13 This locus marks the sod of operation WSDB, a room that was targeted for both practical and research reasons. The research goal of this short season is to broaden our understanding of Precinct C, and more specifically to target smaller rooms that resemble WSH and WSG. WSDA and WSDB satisfy this condition. I avoided the room immediately adjacent to WSAC (to the west) because it is not so clearly discernible on the surface. Practically, I was looking for rooms that could be completed or nearly completed within 4 weeks. I also wanted to keep the new trenches proximate to one another, given that we have two new supervisors this year. The operation WSDB is adjacent to the west quadrant of WSDA, and was placed there because of a possible doorway between the two rooms. In the course of removing the sod, we hit upon one or two stones in the area of the possible doorway, but it\\\\\\\'s too soon to determine whether or not it is in fact a door. Extremely low material densities, as would be expected for the sod layer. The room as a whole measures approximately 8.60 x 8.75.
