The locus marks another pass over what was previously the wheelbarrow ramp, and bottoms out at the level of locus 7 in the rest of the passageway. The deposit is exceedingly rocky, yet it appears to be fall rather than a deliberate blockage. The matrix is mixed between clay and silt. A groundstone was recovered from the area. By the time this locus was complete, a bewildering situation emerged: it appears as though two of the stones that I thought marked the doorway are instead floating. But seems highly unlikely that this is not a doorway given the worked faces. Might require an expansion to clarify.
