I opened locus 8 to take another pass at some rocks along the NW wall that I thought may be wash. We found a flagstone floor at the bottom of this locus. The floor measures 1.60m x 1.30 m. The soil is medium brown texture is claylike. More packed and less rocks in the soil. Interesting, however, that the soil was not light brown when we hit the flagstone floor. The floor is not perfectly flat and there were some floating rocks on the top of the floor we removed (5). This locus is bordered by the NE, NW wall, the baulk and locus 5. No charcoal samples, no small finds and no soil samples from this locus. I closed this locus after finding the floor and opened a new locus to further trace out the borders of the floor.
