This locus runs parallel to locus 2 and 4, on the eastern side of the operation. In excavating the locus we exposed two walls, one that extends diagonally across the trench from the northeast corner to the south baulk, and a second, lower arcing wall that adjoins the former toward the south/southeast. See drawing in notebook page 10. Small finds from this locus included an obsidian point toward the northern end (recovered from wheel barrow) and half of a stone mortar . Top elevation is 65cm b.d. 1, bottom elevation is 1.18 bd 1, at the lower extent. The matrix is a dark soil. Material densities were extremely high, most notable obsidian (2/3 of a bag). Vandalism destroyed part of the upper wall.
