This locus is below locus 8, covering the entirety of the southward extension of the operation. It is an extremely rocky locus, with the surrounding matrix being the same dark black soil we have seen elsewhere across the trench. I opened this locus in order to work through the wall fall in this area and hopefully identify the south wall of the presumed room. The top elevation is the same as the bottom center elevation of locus 8, or 69cm b.d. 1. The bottom elevation at center is 1.17 b.d. 1. A rather thick locus.
