Locus 6 is the soil matrix below the topsoil (locus 5) of the southern extension of trench 1. The locus has been excavated by shovel, pick, and trowel. The matrix is 2.5YR 3/1 dark reddish grey and it is silty and slightly friable. The NE corner was -109 from datum B at the start; and went down about 7cm. However, the range for the whole locus was 7cm - 34cm. We went down quite deep in the middle, where there are low capstones.
