Place: Ar/Ge.T38.15

Locus 15 refers to the N/S terrace wall uncovered in the excavation of locus 14 in the easternmost two meters of T38.
The wall is characterized by large 20-40cm stones organized in a linear fashion. This wall spans the entire length of T38. In the NE corner we have as many as four courses exposed. There we have only one to two courses. Nevertheless, the organization and orientation remains clear. Given the position on the slope, the wall's function as a terrace wall seems fairly obvious. Given the existence of bedrock to the east it seems likely that the people of the Early Bronze Age cut into or built right up against bedrock when they were constructing the this feature. This explains why cultural materials were only found on the western side of the wall. Interestingly, this architectural feature is situated atop the hill, east of the previously exposed architecture.
