This vessel was found within the scatter of human remains collectively referred to locus 18, just south of the locus 22 burial. Unfortunately we do not have the entire vessel, but rather 9 pieces, one of which represents over fifty percent pot. Like locus (vessel) 34, it is highly diagnostic of EBII materials. It is black on black burnished ware with a small handle at the base of the neck. While this "handle" does in fact have a hole, it is not functional but decorative. Given the size of the vessel it could not be lifted through this appendage. Based on the sherds, it is clear that this was well and evenly fired. The temper and coarse nature of the profile are typical of Kura-Araxes wares. Based on the sherds, this vessel is clearly the same shape/ has the same profile as loci 34 and 42. The vessel is comprised of three parts: lip, neck, and an elongated base. Due to the fragmented nature of the vessel, the above metrics are somewhat speculative. It seems that the vessel would have been almost 14cm tall, and almost 15cm in diameter. This vessel was sent for restoration.
