area of lighter soil at the western end of T19, on the western side of the three later LB walls (loci 119, 120 and 121). locus 108 originally consisted of the entire width of the trench, and consists of EB cultrual fill which was subseqently subdivided according to practice and to distinguish between this continuing compressed fill (terraced by LB construction events) and adjacent contained loci. after 3 July 2008, locus 108 was split, with the area of the western trench 1.8 m from the west baulk becoming locus 109, to be taken down with shovels. the eastern locus 108 (abutting the LB wall locus 119) was later found to contain EB locus 112, which was an area of redder soils and material culture to the north of emergent wall locus 122. after this designation (on 8 July 2008), locus 108 continued only in the southern 1.15 m of the trench on the east side, prior to the subsuming of all these EB soil loci into the equalized locus 115 on 25 July 2008. C14 samples from locus 108 therefore come from the upper, undesignated red soils of the EB hearth locus (later to be 112) and from the area to the south of EB wall locus 122.
