Probably a pot--difficult to say with such a small fragment and no hint of a shoulder, but this is a very fine ware, a thin-walled vessel with a very hard, compact fabric. The external decoration, a portion of a polish web ornament solidly attributes the vessel to LB1. While the original color was likely darker, the current external surface is light gray where it is not ornamented, perhaps the result of corrosion. It\\\'s impossible to tell from the small sherd. The interior surface also features similar light gray corrosion, but there it covers only 40% of the surface. The internal surface also features rotational striations, mica popping, and the terminus of the external polish which carries over to the internal rim-neck boundary. Rotational striations are also visible in places on the external surface. A strong polish line is also evident on the lateral rim service, right above where it meets the neck. The superior rim surface is abraded, but not extraordinarily so. Breaks are smooth and covered with the same light gray corrosion.
