Remarks

Bands 1 and 3 should be Red 2.5YR 4/8. The shoulder features at least 8 incised lines, or narrow furrows, and they seem to grow closer from superior to inferior position. It appears as if the entire shoulder was originally polished and the subsequent incising activity removed the polish in the area of the lines. They may also have been applied separately with a press tool, instead of a comb. The fragment is rather thick and may come from a large vessel--hard to say. Coarse sand particles are also present in the fabric. No noticeable corrosion or mica pops. Breaks are rough.
