An LM sherd, likely a short-necked jar, with a single raised ridge at the n/s break. The rim is only present enough to understand its axis--the proximal rim is missing, which prevents an evaluation of the shape and plan. The decorative ridge is very subtle and detectable mostly by touch. It measures approximately 0.67cm in width. The exterior surface appears to have been polished at one point, but much of it has either abraded away, or is covered by the pale brown corrosion that is present over 50% of the exterior surface. The polish is more of a Reddish Brown 5YR 4/3. Several skew scratches running upper right to lower left on the exterior (trowel?) also complicate a good description of the surface. A single organic burnout is visible on the exterior shoulder. The interior surface is more uniform with only 20% covered by yellow corrosion. The interior also features 2 or 3 cracks, which seem to be provoked by grit of pebble-size inclusions perforating the vessel wall. Crack at the interior n/s break as well. High frequency rotational striations are visible on both surfaces. Medium sand is present in the fabric at significant frequencies in addition to the coarse sand noted above. Grit particles are visible perforating the interior shoulder and exterior neck. 1 or 2 pyrite particles and poppings visible on the all surfaces. Fabric is compact, but brittle. Breaks are rough.
