Remarks

11.19.06 A rim to shoulder sherd of a black jar. There is some sort of deposit on the surface, possibly bitumen, but I'm not sure. On the shoulder, there is incised decoration. There are two furrows and between then, on the relief created by the furrows, there are Xs, which I've called crosses. These crosses are not uniform and some are incomplete. For instance, one looks like a Greek lamda. The rim is thick and rounded and continuous off the inverted cone neck. The sherd was broken in half for INAA, and the dimensions above indicate the size before the sherd was broken in half. Sent for INAA in Feb 2007.
