Remarks

This is the area that lies to the west of the small wall associated with the pithos from 2006. It begins to the east with that wall, while the terrace wall lies to the north, the south boundary is the wall (?) of large rocks that runs E-W, and the west boundary is the west baulk. The soil is mottled, with some lenses of orange, clayey soil throughout a richer brown, finer-grained matrix. Materials seem light, which may be due to the fact that we have not actually dug down far beneath where they reached in 2006. When locus 104 was delineated and found to be a floor, it was also discovered that this locus appears to have been dug down through that surface. This locus definitely needs to be explored further, but due to time constraints, it was left at this level. It is believed that this locus is Late Bronze, possibly a construction pit dug to assist in the building of the terrace wall that bounds T20 and T22, which we also believe to be LB.
