Designated MAE229--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A large proportion profile fragment from a very small LB bowl. The decorative schema consists of a two incised circumferential lines positioned just above the s/b transition. The first line is 0.2 cm wide and the second 0.12. They are spaced 0.44 cm apart. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, while several circumferential rotational scratch marks ad striations are visible superior and inferior to the exterior decorations. The exterior is 24% mottled with Brown 7.5YR 5/2 (upper left exterior rim and shoulder). The interior features very limited amounts of light brown corrosion, mostly on the body and shoulder. In addition to the fine sand, significant frequencies of very medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric and perforate the exterior in significant amounts--also possibly due to exterior erosion which has significantly obscured the inferior linear decoration. Both surfaces feature moderate frequencies of pyrite pops. Breaks are rough.
