A likely LB bowl, red in color, featuring a polished web ornament on the shoulder. Stancing of the vessel shows that it is likely a typical LB shouldered bowl. There is no neck. The rim appears to have been bent down, towards the shoulder. The ornamentation schema consists of a well-organized web design of polishing lines averaging 0.135cm in width. The lines run upper left to lower right (four preserved) and upper right to lower left (three preserved). Unlike other examples where the web decoration is created by positive polishing actions, this web appears to have been created by scratching diamond-shaped polish segments away from the completely polished shoulder. The shoulder polish extends from the end of the polish lines at the r/s transition to the superior rim surface. The exterior surface is mottled, especially close to the r/s transition with the above mentioned red, as well as Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N and Black GY1 2.5/N. The interior surface is more uniform in color, and features dense circumferential rotational striations. A couple voids or small burnouts are visible on the interior surface. Spindly, and occasionally clumpy, light gray corrosion covers 10% of all surfaces. Fine and coarse sand inclusions are also present in the fabric in moderate frequencies. Paste is very compact. Breaks are rough.
