Designated MAE1280--radiographed, XRF
Fragment from a small LM bowl or pot, r/b reaching only the uppermost portion of the body. Only a small portion of the superior rim is preserved, so the diameter measurement is only an estimate. The decorative schema consists of two circumferential incised lines averaging 0.16 cm in width. Textural differences and visual indications on the interior surface suggest a coil or ring building formation technique. Both surfaces appear to have been polished, but much of it has abraded away at this point. Exterior polish may have begun on the shoulder and continued inferiorly. Large spalls on the inferior shoulder and superior body have removed most of the surface there. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on all surfaces. The exterior surface features highly limited amounts of white dendritic concretion. In addition to the medium sand, significant frequencies of coarse and fine sand are visible in the fabric. Both surfaces are moderately covered in pyrite pops. Breaks are rough.
