Pottery: Ar/Ab.AB3.03.C.01

A complete, restored, shouldered LB bowl composed of 17 sub-fragments and 6 gypsum portions. One of the gypsum portions, an r/s fragment, should be replaced by two other joined sherds that are curated with the vessel (recovered from locus 13, C.11 and C.13). The decorative schema consists of 4 circumferential incised lines positioned in the center of the shoulder. While the exterior body and base of the vessel are polished, the shoulder and rim are unpolished and consist of Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N mottled with Brown 10YR 5/3 and some Black. None of the interior is polished. In addition to the Light Brownish Gray noted above, approximately half of the interior surface is Dark Gray GY1 4/N. The exterior body and base are heavily spalled and pitted, as well as one half of the interior. All surfaces feature high frequency circumferential rotational striations. Undulations in the exterior body suggest a possible ring- or coil-building formation technique. Coarse sand particles are also present in the fabric in moderate frequencies. Inclusions are visible perforating all surfaces, as well as moderate amounts of pyrite particles.
