Medium sized LB jar with no neck, not a storage jar per se but a jar of significant capacity. While the exterior surface is noted as Very Dark Gray above, it is significantly mottled--perhaps 50% dark grey and 50% 5YR 7/2 Pinkish grey. The interior surface also appears to be mottled but this is probably due to 50% coverage by light yellowish brown corosion. Large continuous portions of the external shoulder surface are pinkish grey. The vessel's rim is estentially a large flat collar rising slightly outward from the shoulders terminus. There is an indent on the internal rim surface ostensibly for a lid, and on the lateral external rim surface a decorative line around 50% of the vessel. This decoration is followed by 2 360 degree zig-zag decorations, each zig-zag averaging 4.5cm in length. Beow the zig-zags is a cord pattern decortion consisting of alternating linear and nail incision decorations, loosely uggesting the form of a cord. The oblique hatch decoration covers 360 degrees of the base. Rotation striations are visible on both the interior and exterior surfaces and as concentric circles on the base. Vessel consists of 1 75% fragment and several other large sherds. Perhaps 30% of the rim is chipped nd spalled. While coarse sand is mentioned above as the most common inclusion type a significant amount of medium sand is also present.
