Small red and black mottled jar with an extremely soft and friable fabric. The inerior shows enormous amoungs of grit and peblle inclusions that perforate the internal surface, while portions of the lower body and base are almost completely abraded away. The ornamentation schema consists of single wavy line, which apears to have been formed by the application of a single circumferential band of clay that was then molded into a wavy line with fngers or a hemispherical tool. This decoration is positioned between the NS and BS breaks. The exterior color is mottled black GY1 2.5/N and Light reddish brown 5YR 6/4. The interior is the Very dark Gray GY1 3/N and the samelight reddish brown 5YR 6/4. While the external surface is mottled, the majority of the jar below the ornamentation band is black, while the majority of the surface above the band is reddish brown. The black coloration above the ornametation band may consist of firing clouds and/or mistakes. The exterior surface was lightly polished over the entire surface, but much of the polish has been abraded away. The external surface has numerus circumferential wiping marks throughout. Some of the perforating inclusions visible in the inerior are also visible in the exterior surface, but at a much lower frequency. The internal surface features both circumferential and vertical wiping marks. with AFG 2008-12-29.
