    Dark brown, almost black matrix, quite loose. Pieces of charcoal in the first 10 cm, which were collected for radiocarbon dating. LBA pottery. There was a large chunk of charcoal in the wall in L502 at 3.6 m E of the NW corner of the trench, at 2283.06 m.
