Place: Ar/Ge.T19.507

The locus is located below/in the NW corner of L504, and is characterized by a scatter of animal bones and EBA pottery sherds, and a loose, fine grained sandy brown matrix. A piece of mineralized wood was found in the NW corner (Ar/Ge.T19.507.MB.01). A small piece of a ceramic andiron was found in the bone and sherd scatter. The ceramics collected from this locus appear to be sherds from a very large storage vessel. A very small piece of charcoal was found in the level (too small to be collected.
L507 was extended to include the entire area of west of the LBA wall (which had formerly been L504). Some of the material from this level had already been collected as L504 (see photo).
Some small pieces of burned bone are coming out of the center of the locus.
There is another ceramic scatter with three small pieces of groundstone (Ar/Ge.T19.507.L.01-03), located at 2282.81 m. A macro-botanical sample was taken below this scatter (Ar/Ge.T19.507.MB.02) We also found a complete skeleton of a rodent, most likely intrusive.
Also found in this locus was a piece of iron ore, which is a result of the process of copper production (according to the geologists that Reuben consulted).
