This locus, declared 7/8/10, is the southern corner of the trench, and the matrix is the dark, loamy soil of Locus 4 above, similar to Locus 7 currently open. It was declared because it was delimited by two large rocks which were removed today, and which bracketed this area between the SE wall and the ramp that the crew created for the wheelbarrow. It is likely on top of the same matrix, or 'floor,' of Locus 6. See notebook for elevations and sketch (elevation given is extreme western corner).
