An arrangement of human bones, some already broken, found on 7/9/10 in what had originally been called Locus 9. This locus, lying directly beneath the dark loamy soil of Locus 2, was restricted to a small area in the northern corner of the trench, and was delimited from the rest of the trench by a row of large rocks (see notebook sketch), uncovered while removing Locus 3 and 7. The matrix is still the dark loamy soil of the overburden in the rest of the trench, but got somewhat more compact as the locus was excavated, after the rocks were removed. The human bones (as determined on 7/9/10) jut out of the NW baulk, and appear to be in some articulation where the pelvis, hips, and legs are visible, but the upper spine and head, and arms, are beyond the baulk. Most were collected but some were left in situ, to be dealt with when the faunal expert arrives. Some bones were broken while removing, when they were originally thought to be faunal. Little ceramic or lithic material came out of this feature. See notebook for sketch, elevations and measurements from baulk. It is possible this feature is resting on the 'floor' matrix visible in the rest of the trench, especially Locus 6.
