This locus is L-shaped, comprising the 5 m directly next to the NW side of the trench (as the smaller part of the L), and then the 11 m that run along the SW side of the trench (the nonwalled side of the trench). After those first 5 m, though, the width of this locus is 2.62 m. Locus 10, which we started to dig at the SE side of the trench, was collapsed into Locus 9, as both have the same dark brown, loamy soil. The beginning elevation was measured sort in the middle of the L, and the ending elevation was also measured near the 'crook' of the L, where the two ends join.
