One of several medium to large pits riddling dug into bedrock along the floor of this operation. Took a soil sample from this pit for flotation (Ar/Ts.SLT9.14.ss.1). Like several of the pits, the rim of the pit seems burned as it is a very hard clay, and there is some evidence of reddish (fired?) clay lining, though no charcoal was retrieved from the pit.
