    This locus constitutes the brown/hardpacked clay/organic rich matrix that hugs the NW and NE walls of the operation, especially the northern, western and eastern (after the removal of Locus 8) corners. It abuts Locus 13 to the SE. Opened 7.24.10. See notebook for sketch and measurements and full elevations (given is center).
    The matrix is mostly a medium brown/tan color, with some splotches of darker brown and orange, especially against the NW and NE walls.
