Place: Ar/Ge.T27.56

This is an irregularly shaped locus in the west end of T27. It was established (along with L55 and L57) because of differing soil across this part of the trench, and below L05. It is bordered on the north by L54, on the west by L55 and on the east by L57, and it has the south baulk as its southern boundary. The elevations given above were taken in its NW corner, the length measurement was taken in the N-S direction, while the width measurement was taken at the widest point in the E-W direction. Other measurements and a drawing can be found in the notebook. Azurite and ochre (?- a small, bright orange inclusion in the soil) appeared along the W edge of the locus (just E of the border between L55 and L56).
