This locus constitutes the soil matrix confined by the row of stones in Feature 16 and the NE wall of WSAD, in the eastern corner of the operation. The stones delimit an area of soil that is mottled, ranging from a brighter orange/yellow brown to a gray, dark brown, suggesting an organic content. Two soil samples were taken for analysis on 7.27.10 when the locus was opened. The matrix appears to include a leaching phenomenon from the stones of the wall as well as a potential activity area.
