Remarks

This locus constitutes a probe into the medium brown/tan clay matrix in operation WSAD, extending from the NE wall south and west into the center of the room. The locus was also declared to explore the extent of feature 16, the stone arrangement in the eastern corner. The matrix consists of the same clay/hardpacked composition seen in the above-floor deposit in WSAC, but slightly more porous with more pebble sized rocks. Locus was opened 7/29/10, and was screened. See notebook for sketch and elevations; given is center.
Locus was extended to the southwest baulk, and directly covered the paved floor in the western corner. The matrix had a lot of bits of charcoal in it, and was similar to the cultural layer above the floor in WSAC.
