Place: Ar/Ge.T19.536

The SE corner of L536, south of the EBA wall running east-west, is higher and the soil there is a dark brown, loose matrix of a sandy loam with very few gravel inclusions. The rest of the locus consists of a loose, light brown matrix of a sandy loam with very few gravel inclusions. There is evidence of rodent burrowing in the northern and southern parts of the locus.
As we came down, we hit bedrock in the SE corner and in the SW corner of the locus there is a lens of black/dark brown soil, interspersed with what appears to be bedrock. In the center of the locus there is a triangular area of black, highly compact matrix, about the same level (or a little lower) as a small line of stones running north-south, just west of the LBA wall. The area started at a depth of 2282.25 m and ended at 2282.22 m. The matrix was a dark brown/black sandy clay loam.
Along the LBA wall, near the center of the locus, there are small patches of a very compact, orange/red/brown matrix, which may be floor prep. There is another area of possible floor prep, along the western wall of the trench, a little north of the EBA wall. In the southern half of the locus, there are areas of extremely compact matrix, where as in other areas the matrix is loose and easy to trowel. There is no noticeable difference in the color or composition of these soils, and it may be due to differential preservation of a floor surface.
Material densities have remained low, though a few bones (including teeth (dog?), med. mammal phalanx, large mammal vertebrae) came out of the SW corner (in the area of the lens of black/dark brown soil.
